The projects:
The projects for this class are available in a book form and are on
line. We will be doing all our work on-line. You will submit all
your projects to me and receive your grades through the magic of
the internet.
There are 11 or so projects for the term. In the beginning of the semester they are concentrated on teaching you MATLAB skills towards the end the focus is on applying those skills to solve calculus problems.
Grading:
There will be two in-class exams and a final. Your final grade will
be a combination of these three and a project grade.
The projects will be worth 50% of your grade, the in-class exams
will be worth 15% and the final 20%.
The projects all have a due date which will be assigned during the term. If a project is late a penalty will be applied. The first week is at my discretion. Between one and two weeks the penalty will be 50%. After two weeks a project will not be graded.
Exam Policy: I expect full attendance for all the exams. If you know ahead of time that you will miss an exam, you must make prior arrangements with me before the exam. As a general rule, there will be no make-up exams. No accommodations for a missed final exam will be made. Please keep your old exams as they are your record of your grade.
Exam Dates: The exam dates are listed at the top of this sheet. If there are changes to these dates they will be announced in class and posted on my web page. The content of each exam will be announced in class prior to the exam. The date and time of the final exam will be announced during the semester.
