We will start with an introduction to random walks and geometic groups. We will start with the basic example of simple random walks on Euclidean lattices and trees, and then discuss random walks on Gromov hyperbolic groups. We will discuss generalizations of hyperbolic groups, such as acylindrical groups and weakly hyperbolic groups. We will also cover entropy, positive drift and convergence to the boundary. As time permits, we will also discuss Green metrics, random subgroups, and various applications.
These are the notes I make for class, they are probably not of much use to anyone else.
