These are the goals for week 5
Last week we covered chapter 3, and now we begin chapter 4. Chapter 4 introduces probabibility concepts that allow us to go beyond descriptive statistics, and move into inferential statistics. I will try to get through most of chapter 4, but we’ll see how close I actually get. Some of cahpter 4 will seem very easy, but not all of it. Please do the homework so you can tell yourself you really understand.
This week we will have a project to do to make sure that we can use the various tricks with MINITAB that we have been covering. I will hand the project out on Monday. You will turn in your project to me the following Monday.
For Wednesday, please look for examples in the paper where inferences are made from data. For example, a survey of 1000 people might be used to infer something about a larger population.
