Meeting Time and places: Thursday 3:35-5:30
Special requirement: Please bring a 3.5 inch diskette to
class to store computer files.
Exam dates:
October 8, November 19
Special dates: College is closed on November 26.
In this class, we will be using a new software package to turn in
projects via the world wide web. Details will be given in
class. Please be patient while we sort out any bugs. As the software
is experimental, you should also write down your answers for your
records.
The class time will consist of 20 to 30 minutes of lecture about the
current project and then lab time for you to work on a project. If
extra time is needed to complete the projects, computer labs are
available. The projects themselves range in length and some may take
two class periods to complete.
Grading: Your final grade will be calculated from your scores on the final exam and the two 45-minute long, in-class exams and your scores on the projects.
Your test score will be 40% from the final and 30% for each
in-class exam. If you have a passing mark on the tests then these
will be averaged in with your project average to give your final
grade. Note: this means that in order to pass this class you must
have a passing mark on the in-class exams.
Exam Policy:
I expect full attendance for all the exams. If you know ahead of time
that you will miss an exam, you must make prior arrangements with me
before the exam. As a general rule, there will be no make-up
exams. No accommodations for a missed final exam will be
made. Please keep your old exams as they are your record of your grade.
Exam Dates:
The exam dates are listed at the top of this sheet. If there are
changes to these dates they will be announced in class. The content
of each exam will be announced in class prior to the exam. The date
and time of the final exam will be announced during the semester.
