Announcements

Back during the pandemic, I made some videos covering some of the material from this class. I'd sort of forgotten all about these videos, but I figure I might as well share them with you now in case they're useful to you while you're studying. Let me know if any of the links are broken.

I've posted your midterm scores on Brightspace. You can interpret your score as follows:

  • 63–84: A- to A
  • 50–62: B- to B+
  • 39–49: C to C+

Anything lower than that is a D or an F.

Here's some more information about the grading for the class. Also see the syllabus for the breakdown of what's worth what.

Here are the solutions to last week's midterm. I'm not done grading the exam yet, though, so I won't be returning it today.

Our final is officially scheduled for Wednesday, December 17th, at our usual meeting time (2:30-4:25) and our usual classroom.

I just wanted to let you know in advance that there will be no bathroom breaks during tomorrow's exam. I found it too chaotic last midterm with so many people leaving the room. And I can't ensure that people aren't looking things up when they're out of the room. If this is going to be a problem for you, please let me know in advance, and we'll figure out a way to deal with it.

Update: Webwork is back up now.

Webwork is down since yesterday, sorry. The homework due date will be extended to tomorrow night (but I can still go over problems in class today). Hopefully we'll get it back up soon.

Here are the solutions to today's quiz.

Reminder: we have a quiz tomorrow and our second midterm next Wednesday.

The quiz, to be held tomorrow on Wednesday, November 19th, will be on Section 6.1.

The midterm, to be held Wednesday, November 16th, will probably go through Section 6.2, but I'll decide for sure later this week. The exam will have a similar format as the first one. You're permitted a sheet of notes, same rules as before. You can find some old exams in the archive.
