Are you up for the challenge? Dec 20, 2011

Then join up for the CUNY math challenge: http://math.cisdd.org/

Sponsored by the Office of Academic Affairs and the CUNY Institute for Software Design and Development (CISDD) and supported by the Office of the Chancellor, the CUNY Math Challenge seeks to identify and reward CUNY's best math talent. Regardless of your major, if you are a matriculated CUNY undergraduate student and enjoy math problems, the CUNY Math Challenge is for you!

Here's how it works. The challenge is made up of four rounds, the first three of which take place online and consist of six problems each. A new online round opens on the first of each month beginning Sunday, January 1, 2012. Participants have until the last day of each month to submit their answers in each online round, accumulating points along the way. Problems in each round are of varying levels of difficulty.

The top performing students after the first three rounds will be invited to the final round, an in-person exam to be administered on Sunday, April 22, 2012. Approximately thirty qualifying students will compete in the final round for up to $15,000 in cash prizes ranging from $500 up to the grand prize of $2,500. Winners will be publicly recognized at an event with Chancellor Goldstein in early May.
